Two volumes into which Culver pasted copies of his speeches, correspondence with the Weather Bureau, clippings from the newspaper of his daily weather observations and meteorological reports, articles on Tacoma weather and weather prediction, and miscellaneous clippings relating to affairs in Washington, D.C., which were of interest to him.

From 1947 until 1970, the official observations of weather in Boulder were made under the direction of the Boulder fire chief, at the central fire station. The Boulder Fire Department also maintained a weather station at the South Side Fire Station starting in July 1958. Prior to 1947, observations were made from the homes of volunteering citizens of Boulder. (Cf. station history in BHS 351 b1 f6.). Weather observer, Tacoma, Wash.; trained in both law and medicine; practiced medicine in Kentucky and later had a legal practice in Washington, D.C.; moved to Tacoma in 1887 where became a volunteer weather observer for the State Weather Service, a branch of the Weather Bureau division of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.
